Either buy a lot of the same socks or do what I do. I save stuff for my art projects. I made mittens from the fuzzy socks that were ruined in the dryer.
I never match my socks. It’s rare for me to ever wear a matched pair. I just throw them all in a drawer and wear the first two of the same type I see. So right now I’m wearing a stripey sock and a lemon sock. I just won’t wear a fuzzy sock with a tall sock or anything like that.
I’ve bought 18 pair of the same socks 🙂
All of the above happen in our house, including the buy the same socks strategy suggested by Klaas.
Buy socks that are all the same (half white and half black) so a missing sock isn’t even noticed!
We use a small bin of all the odd socks. When doing laundry, all the unmatched go into the bin.
Once in a while we go through the bin and pair whatevers in there. Usually when the kids have no clean socks.
Use the other sock as a rag!
Make sock puppets, or, as I do, make stuffed animals, i make sock cats

Make stuffed animals.
Ha ha! I love how people are suggesting making puppets or stuffed animals!
